These terms describe what you can expect from Vicinio and what Vicinio expects from you. They apply to everyone with an account: residents, owners, staff and administrators.
What Vicinio is
Vicinio is a platform that residential communities use to run gate access, bookings, news, documents, governance and maintenance. Your community decides which parts it uses and who may use them; membership and roles are assigned by your community, not by Vicinio.
Your account
You join by invitation from your community or by creating an account yourself. Keep the information on your account accurate — the gate, the guard and your neighbours rely on it. Signing in happens through a secure link sent to your email; do not forward that link to anyone.
Using it fairly
Use Vicinio for community life, within the law and within your community's own rules. Do not post content that is unlawful or harms your neighbours, do not create passes for people you would not let in yourself, and do not try to access data of communities or homes that are not yours.
Your content
What you post remains yours. By posting it you allow your community and Vicinio to store and show it as needed to run the service — a notice is shown to neighbours, a pass is shown at the gate, a vote is counted in the minutes.
The community's role
Boards and administrators configure the community, assign homes and roles, and are responsible for what they publish. Decisions taken through Vicinio's governance tools follow the legal rules of the community's own country.
Availability and changes
Vicinio is under active development. Features can change or be withdrawn, and the service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Anything that affects how your community works day-to-day is announced in the app.
Ending an account
You can leave at any time by asking your community's administrator to remove your membership. A community can end its use of Vicinio; its data is then handed over or deleted as it instructs.
