Privacy

Vicinio runs the daily life of residential communities: who is expected at the gate, what is booked, and what the board has decided. That work involves personal data. This page explains, in plain words, what we store and why.
Who is responsible
For the data of a community's residents, staff and guests, the community itself (for example, a Spanish comunidad de propietarios) decides why the data is used. Vicinio processes it on the community's behalf, following its instructions.
For questions about your data, start with your community's board or administrator — through the app, or through the contact details on your community's public page.
What we store
Your account: name, email address, preferred language, and the homes and roles your community assigns to you.
What you do in the app: guest and delivery passes (including guest names and vehicle plates), facility bookings, messages and discussion posts, documents, votes and proxies, and maintenance requests with their photos.
At the gate: if your community uses camera-based plate recognition, the camera reports the plate it read so the gate can decide whether to open. Those events are kept in the community's arrival log.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, we do not show advertising, and we do not use advertising trackers. The app stores your language choice and your login session on your device — nothing else.
Where data lives
Data is stored in a hosted Postgres database (Supabase) with row-level security: each community's data is only readable by the people and roles that community has authorised.
Notifications
Push notifications are optional and off until you turn them on. You can withdraw permission at any time in your browser or device settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the data held about you, and object to or restrict certain uses. Send your request to your community's administrator; they are the ones who can act on the community's records, and Vicinio supports them in carrying it out.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it and your community will be informed through the app.
